As a busy wife and mother, I struggle daily to incorporate both spiritual devotions and physical activity into my routines. I know in my mind and heart that both will benefit me tremendously, but frequently manage to find excuses to keep me from my daily prayer or workout times.
Barbara Bartocci has written a book which has helped me tremendously. By sharing the stories of 48 "regular" people (not extreme athletes) and their exploration of the connection between physical activity and spiritual awareness, Barbara sparks the reader to inspiration. Meditation in Motion has helped me see the "opportunities" in my own life to experience that sacred through the blessing God has given me to be able to get out and move! Barbara Bartocci will motivate you to experiment with new sports and activities you may never have thought of or tried. The book includes a "Know Yourself" quiz, 21 Ways to link physical and spiritual fitness, and Barbara's "Coach's Reflection" at the end of each story which incorporate spiritual and physical principals. I hope you'll pick up this book and make it and the ideas it shares a part of your own life!
