Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 Review

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07

Last year's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 launched with the Xbox 360 in a good fashion, standing among the best of the launch's numerous sports titles. Last year I concluded my review of Tiger 06 saying, "I hope next year's version of Tiger is fleshed out and features more while continuing to improve on the great gameplay." Well, Tiger 07 is just that game I hoped for. It's a fleshed-out and well-done edition of a fine sports franchise, and now stands near the top of the Xbox 360's stack of sports titles.
Tiger 06 initially whipped me. It beat me into shape and forced me to learn the subtle things about golf, the things that make the ball roll just a little closer or land at a better spot on the course. It, however, could eventually become the easiest video game around. Tiger 07 looks to change this, forcing even more realistic difficulty into the gameplay. The core mechanics remain mostly unchanged-you still swing dynamically with the left analog stick, pulling back to backswing and pushing forward to foreswing. However, this year's game has a little twist; rather than Tiger 06's arrow that showed you where exactly your ball should land, Tiger 07 features a wide aiming area on each shot. This circular area represents where your ball can possibly land. Unless the golfer makes perfect contact and accurately judges the lie, the wind, and the spin on the ball, it is entirely possible for the ball to end up yards away from where it was intended to land.
Fortunately it's as simple as ever to take a shot and after practice it's quite easy to learn all of Tiger's tricks. Things like the wind and the lie only require a little time to get a feel for. I noticed that hitting the ball off of the side of a hill now has a very dramatic effect on where it will go in the air, and it feels almost like backspin and topspin on the ball no longer send the ball flying in the intended direction when it lands. Though the game is noticeably tougher and definitely punishing, Tiger 07 is difficult to put down.
You'll start Tiger 07 by creating your golfer with the deep Game Face system. My golfer looked so much like me that it was almost scary to look at him on the course. Following that, the game offers a long and engaging career mode; one that sends you week after week playing through tournaments at familiar courses like Riviera, Pinehurst, and Pebble Beach as well as Bandon Dunes, Carnoustie, Firestone Country Club, and more. The amount of courses I just rambled off is equal to last year's puny list of six, and Tiger 07 features even more. Similar to real life, getting better in your career can only be done by playing more. At first, this is difficult; your golfer's initially a total chump on the course. By performing golfing drills, competing in golfing games, and most simply, playing, your golfer's stats will raise and your on-the-course performance will improve. All of the stat changes are dynamic. By hitting a lot of lucky shots, your Luck stat will increase. Getting close on approach shots will improve your overall Approach stat, and using the game's Power Boost ability (jam a button to increase the power of a shot in mid-swing), you'll benefit from a bigger Power Boost stat. Tiger 07 doesn't give you a lot of freebies; to get better at the game you just have to play more. After a while you'll be blasting the ball down the fairway and having no trouble with that aiming area.
Tiger 06 looked great on the Xbox 360, and somehow Tiger 07's added even more detail to the beautiful courses. EA's Universal Capture technology looks great on Tiger Woods but all of the other characters animate well and swing animations look great. The fans that crowd the course are a little too numerous but it's interesting and cool to see them walk towards your ball and follow you around the course. The commentary, done by the same two fellows from Tiger 06, isn't much different. It's very appropriate to golf, and it's fun to hear them mock each other from time to time. I especially like when one of them calls my shot incorrectly and the other says, "What are you talking about? That was a great shot " Every virtual golfer needs a confidence boost from time to time.
Tiger 07 plays better than any Tiger before it, it looks beautiful, it sounds great, it comes chock-full of modes...the list goes on and on; EA Redwood did a fantastic job. As a result, the second next-gen golf title is a winner. Though it's a little tough at first, Tiger 07 has few flaws and it's one of the better next-gen sports titles. Virtual golfers should definitely check it out.

LOREXvue Video Recording Sunglasses Review

LOREXvue Video Recording Sunglasses
Average Reviews:

I spent a few days using these glasses and have been ok with the results. The video quality is just acceptable but given that it is crammed into a pair of glasses I can live with it. The camera likes lots of light but these are sunglasses after all so I guess that is to be expected. You can get a good amount of video on the built in memory.
I do have some problems and worries though.
- The recorded audio is not very loud. When playing back the video it is hard to hear other people talking.
- The glasses feel really cheap. I do not feel that these will be around for the long run.
- The controls and indicators leave a lot to be desired. With the delays in turning off and on and recording you sometimes have to try a few times to get things right.
- Charging and battery life is a big guess. With no charge or battery indicator you just have to guess when it is done or dead. The instructions say not to leave on charge for extended amounts of time. This makes me think there is no charge controller.
- I think these glasses are way overpriced for what you get. They might be worth $50.

NBA Live 07 Review

NBA Live 07
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let me just start by saying that the only reason you should "upgrade" from LIVE '06 to LIVE '07 is that it has Steve Nash's current haircut... No, but seriously, this game is fun, but it's only fun because it's a basketball game from EA Games. There is no real significant "upgrade" from Live '06. There ARE however many new features, some of them good, most of them unnecessary. Here's a list, sorted by downgrade/midgrade/upgrade:
Downgrade:
GAMEPLAY- Terribly choppy, not smooth at all. There is a lot of pre-programmed interaction between the defense and offense which is neat, but it doesn't transition well into the non-pre-programmed interaction. (You'll understand when you play it).
AI- Very poor. Half of my games consist of the Point Guard standing in one spot until I steal the ball from him or the clock runs out and he shoots a 3 point shot. WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT: The opposing team will shoot 25-30 three point shots during the course of one game... it's absolutely ridiculous. They rarely take anything to the rim, and only make about 20-30% of those threes.
Midgrade:
FREESYLE SUPERSTAR TYPES- I loved in '06 where some players had their "special abilities" such as Playmaker, High Flyer, Power, etc., now there are a lot more, and a lot of them are very similar.
Types that should be kept: Playmaker, Inside Scorer, Power, and High Flyer.
Types that should be removed: Inside Stopper, Outside Stopper, Outside Scorer, and Shooter.
Inside/Ouside Stopper are basically blocking moves, Outside Scorer is basically a flashy jump-shot, and Shooter is a three point shot. They all just complicate the simple moves that would get the job done easier.
This falls in the midgrade category because some of the older abilities are still there, AND players can now have multiple abilities.
MINI GAMES- There are two mini games to play: 2Ball and Handles. This falls in the category of Midgrade because 2Ball is an upgrade and Handles is a downgrade. I like 2Ball because it's purely shooting, and I'm sure a lot of other people are with me on that. Handles is a game where you hold your PSP sideways (which is awkward AND unnecessary) and hit the arrow keys on the screen in order for your man to dribble. To sum it all up: totally lame. It's not fun at all. I might as well be playing SIMON SAYS.
Upgrade:
X-FACTOR- This is when a player can gain a Freestyle Superstar ability if he starts owning. This designated player changes each game, and once the ability is activated, it remains so until the player starts playing poorly. This is a great way to get those underappreciated players to shine.TO SUM UP EVERYTHING:
Buy it, but keep NBA LIVE '06. You may want to switch later, but if you're a basketball gaming fan, it's a neccessity to have the next game in line.

After I installed an Android app for my marathon training - I decided to get this Armband strap instead of carrying my phone in my hand. I was skeptical at first because it looks one fits for all smart phones... but The T-Mobile G2x fits perfectly in the Armband.... I did not even have to take off my phone's protective case and it still fits inside the Armband - so I have double protection (doubt I need it because it fits snuggly during my runs)... obviously the touch screen doesn't work through the plastic case because your finger's electrical charge cannot pass through the clear part of the Armband... Loving it so I'm giving it 5 stars!

Trigger Point 'The Grid' Foam Roller Review

Trigger Point 'The Grid' Foam Roller
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Holy crap is this thing awesome. I've had foam rollers before, eventually they all wear out in the middle and are kind of useless. I bought this to alleviate that problem. For the price of two average rollers the same size, you get something that will outlast ten or more. This has harder foam with different textures, and is wrapped around a thick, hollow PVC pipe. Pure genius! The matrix zones are nice and all, but they won't noticeably change anything for you. The company will give your their spiel about massaging properties of different zones, but it's unnecessary. If you've used a roller, you know why you need it, but I guess they have to justify it to themselves. Honestly, I have no idea why they aren't all made this way. I've been using these rollers for over a decade, but never owned one til recently and didn't know how easily they wore out. This is the first of this style I've ever seen. It's great for relieving pain in your back, or rolling out sore muscles. You can use it for massage (roll til it quits hurting) or incorporate it into your workout. I've turned most of my friends and each of my brothers on to this thing. If you're even halfway considering another foam roller, stop, call yourself a name that let's you know how silly you are, and buy this immediately.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 Review

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, first things first. The gameplay in Tiger Woods PGA Tour doesn't change all that much from year to year, and the 2008 edition is no exception. Sure, there are some new features and more golfers to choose from, but the improvements in gameplay itself might not be worth upgrading if you've already got Tiger 2007. Where this game does come through, however, is in the online options. The ability to play a match online is great, and Gamernet, which allows you to post challenges for other people to attempt and beat, is a lot of fun.
THE GOOD:
-If you're a fan of the franchise you'll enjoy the gameplay in Tiger 2008
-The inclusion of more LPGA golfers is a nice development for female players
-Gameface, when/if it works (the site seems to be unstable and many people haven't been able to make it work), allows you to use a picture of yourself to customize your golfer's face!
-online options are great, and the Gamernet challenges should appeal to people seeking producer points for posting difficult challenges, and those who want to earn player points by beating or "busting" those challenges.
THE BAD:
-New features are, for the most part, good, but Tiger Woods '08 is still basically the same game. Some more innovation would be nice.
-Gameface doesn't work very well for a lot of people, and I've found Gamernet to be pretty buggy as well. You can only have 3 clips up at a time, and taking down your old challenges so you can post new ones can be frustrating. EA seems to offer little to no support for anything related to the online portion of the game.
-The game is STILL buggy. EA released an update that fixed a bug preventing the Tiger Challenge from being completed, but the game still freezes up at times and some of the animations don't work. I've played entire rounds where my opponent didn't have a ball--he was just swinging at the ground and launching nothing into the air.
Overall, Tiger Woods 2008 is probably worth picking up if you don't own any of the recent titles. If you're thinking of upgrading from '07, however, you might want to rent this one first and see if the new stuff is really worth the price of a new game. Personally, if it weren't for the online aspect of the game I'd recommend buying '07 and saving the money, but if you like to play online this one might be worthwhile.

NBA JAM Review

NBA JAM
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
So, if you are like me and my friends and spent lots of quarters on the original arcade game, this will take you back.
We played the heck out of the older versions on the Sega Genesis, N64, Sega Dreamcast and the odd Xbox 3-on-3 version.
Since Jam went away we switched to EA's NBA Street.
Street was fun, but it was almost became as complicated as a fighting game with all of the combos you needed to do.
This Xbox 360 version is a total remake of the original arcade game. Big Head mode and all.
This isn't a deep game, but there is more to it than just "Play Now", but it isn't NBA 2K11.
So the question is, is Jam worth the full retail price? I would say no unless you are dying for a multiplayer game that doesn't involve a gun or you
are an old school fan like me.
This is one of the few multiplayer games I can play with my son and his friends. Most games, like the Lego series are only two player games.
I rated it four stars because it is a great re-make of a great game.
It plays just like the old arcade machine.
I love the gameplay. I love the graphics and the play by play is fun.
There are some quirks.
The on-line gameplay is broken for now. That is inexcusable. You can't play anyone, I assuming this will be fixed ASAP. (right EA?)
The rosters are not the latest. Miami has Lebron and the Knick have Amare' but Ariza is still on the Rockets.
There is a championship mode which is fun for single player action and they have some unique challenges they call "Re-Mix", but the heart of the game
is just playing with one to three other friends.
This is classic Midway video game. If you have played NBA Jam or NFL Blitz you know the rules, who ever is in last place, they will have the advantage (ala Mario Kart).
This is done so every game is close, it is a fun challenge to try to put someone down by 20.
The computer cheats big time, but there are some tricks you can do to keep the CPU at bay.
The game has some fun rewards that you will earn when playing, for example if your player scores all the points you get a ball hog award.
I have tried most the teams.
I found the surprise player is Arenas on Washington.
So basically, if you are looking for a more arcade like basketball game that is not a sim like NBA 2K11, this might be for you.
If you want something to compete with your friends that will have you all screaming, yelling and insulting each other, this is it.
But if you want a deep single player type game, I would pass on this.
Try NBA Street. It has more to it.
Update: OK, the single player is more fun than I thought.
I am addicted to unlocking every player....
The campaign mode tasks you with beating every team, there are boss battles after
every few matches. This is one way you unlock the legends from the fist NBA Jam (Arcade Version).
For example you have to challenge Spud Webb and Dominique Wilkens or go to Golden State and take on Chris Mullins andTim Hardaway.
If you beat them, you can play them in the multi-player.
Also, it you pull off certain tasks like 10 blocks in a game and such you will unlock more legends.
These Legends are added to the rosters of the respective teams they played for.
So Worthy is now available with Kobe, Lamar and Pau.
i haven't gotten to the main boss battle which looks to be Magic and Bird on the same team.
The hardest team to beat on Hard Mode has been Orlando. Dwight blocks everything and he and Vince Carter dunk really hard.
It is hard to block them.
I have been using Arenas and Minute Bol as my tandem.

Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, okay, I fell for the infomercial. I was looking for something that was pure cardio and this really seemed to fit the bill. So I gave it a try and I don't have any regrets! Honestly, I had four other dance workout dvds in my Amazon wishlist--after doing the Zumba 20-min workout, I deleted the wishlist. No kidding.
What you'll definitely need: WATER!! And plenty of it! Also, a little room to dance around in. Of course, the workouts and the toning sticks are provided for you.
What might need: Since the toning sticks are crazy light (1 lb. each ??), you may want to throw on a pair of weighted hand gloves if you have them. I've also tried just using regular hand weights but at the fast pace of this workout and since the toning workout is "dancey," they were a little difficult to handle.
Workouts: The basics "workout" isn't really a workout but breaks down the moves using a 3-step process working up to the full dance move. (I'd break it down but there's 20+ moves) This is about an hour but, I feel, well worth the watch, even if you are a seasoned dance dvd phenom. And if not, the moves are super easy.
The other actual workouts, of course, use the moves from "basics" but also does variations of these moves (don't worry, they'll give you a heads up.) Some mainstay dance routines are Samba, Merengue, Reggaeton (my fav!), Cumbia, Mambo and Salsa but I was pleasantly surprised that were more styles of dancing included in the workout other than Latin. Cardio Party (my fav!) has an "American Mix" section that features a bit of country dancing and an ode to 1950s Americana. There's also some African steps that are really fun, too (you'll see them in Zumba Sculpt and Tone and in Zumba Live). You'll also see some bellydance (kinda, sort of) ;-) and Flamenco.
A few things that might trip you up:
1. The cueing, though not terrible, could be a bit better.
2. During the "basics" workout, Tanya (??), the girl who co-hosts the workout with Beto, says to just keep to beat. This tidbit really comes in handy because there are a few (VERY few but noticable) editing issues. So you might think you're on the wrong foot when in reality, the editor messed up. But no worries, the scene will cut and everything is back to normal. (In other words, just keep in step with the beat of the music and eventually, you and those working out of the dvd will be back in unison.)
3. Beto has a REALLY rich accent so it can be sort of hard to pick what he's saying at first. I found, after doing the workouts a while, my ear has become more apt at understanding him--so maybe it will for you, too.
A couple of personal pet-peeves:
1. The toning sticks. They seemed like a great idea but the constant raddling kind of started to get on my nerves.
2. After each routine, there's this pause to introduce the next routine. I'm not really sure about how I feel about this because sometimes I think "thank goodness, I thought I was gonna die." But other times I feel like the breaks just slow down the workout. Jury's still out on that one.
Overall: What else can I say that I haven't already. I really dug this workout. 'Nuff said.*Side note: I know there has been some debate over price on this item. I love this workout and bought this from Amazon (only 60 bucks + free shipping at the time), but seriously, it's really not worth spending over $100 for.

About Zumba Fitness Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive. Since its inception in 2001, Zumba Fitness has grown to become the world's largest and most successful dance-fitness program with more than 10 million people of all shapes, sizes, and ages taking weekly Zumba classes in over 90,000 locations across more than 110 countries.
As a fitness instructor in his native Cali, Colombia, the life of Zumba program's founder, Alberto "Beto" Perez, took an unexpected turn one fateful day in the mid-'90s. He darted off to teach an aerobics class and forgot his traditional aerobics music, so he improvised using his own mix of music from tapes he had in his backpack (the salsa and merengue music he grew up with). Spontaneously, he created a new kind of dance-fitness, one that focused on letting the music move you (instead of counting reps over the music). Energy electrified the room; people couldn't stop smiling. His class loved it! And on that day, a revolutionary new fitness concept was born--the Zumba Fitness-Party.
In 2001, Beto brought his new dance-fitness style to Miami, Florida, and, through a student (Alberto Perlman's mom), met entrepreneurs Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion. All three hailed from Colombia and all three had a vision to bring this dynamic dance-fitness class to the masses. The three Albertos formed an alliance and created a business, calling it Zumba Fitness. They trademarked the word Zumba® and set a goal to expand the brand all over the world. First came the DVDs, then the infomercial--which introduced the Zumba Fitness-Party to the public on a wide-scale basis. That followed with the demand for Zumba classes and Zumba instructors and then the company took off and the Zumba program expanded in a big way. By 2005, Zumba Fitness spawned a full-fledged Zumba Academy to license Zumba Instructors to teach Zumba classes. More expansion followed with the launch of Zumbawear apparel and accessories, music CDs, and in 2008, one of the bestselling at-home fitness DVD series ever--the Zumba Fitness® Total Body Transformation System--which starred Beto and introduced Zumba Fitness' newest stars, Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant. In 2010, Zumba shook the ground by being the first branded fitness program to launch a video game on all three major gaming platforms: Wii, Xbox, and PS3.
Fast forward to today, the Zumba program is now taught in gyms and studios all over the world to millions of Zumba enthusiasts. And as the program continues to evolve from its humble beginnings, to a global movement, to a way of life--its growth has only deepened the company's commitment to providing accessible fitness, without the strain, without the sacrifice, just the pure joy of a party.
What's in the Box? Four DVDs with workouts: Zumba Fitness Basics Workout, Zumba Fitness 20-Minute Express Workout, Zumba Fitness Sculpt & Tone Workout, Zumba Fitness Cardio Party Workout, Zumba Fitness Live! Workout, and Zumba Fitness Flat Abs Workout; two toning sticks

I've never before played a video game that made me laugh out loud. But this one does that and more. Sure, there are more realistic games out there. But one doesn't always want realism when one is playing a game. Sometimes one wants to breakdance on the ball to the tune of Herbie Hancock's "Rock-It," then leap off Shaq's back, land standing on the rim, and throw down a MASSIVE dunk that sounds literally like a bomb while the name of one's hometown flashes on the screen. I know it's not original (old fans of NBA Jam will know what I mean), but the brilliant idea of combining real-world playgrounds and NBA stars with the physics of fantasy games makes this a game anyone can love.
I haven't felt inspired to write an Amazon review for years. And I'm 40 years old. This game is straight-up SICK.

This game wasn't anywhere near as fun as I expected. The game is slow and takes a long time to load. It is hard to learn and control. There are to many confusing options that affect how you play. In fact, most of the time, it doesn't even work. There's an 'illegal opperation' message almost every time I manage to start the game. That means that you have to start all over from scratch. I don't reccomend this game to anyone, escpeccily those who get impatient quickly.

J.T. EATON 421CL "REPEATER" MULTIPLE CATCH MOUSE TRAP Review

J.T. EATON 421CL REPEATER MULTIPLE CATCH MOUSE TRAP
Average Reviews:

I also bought this trap based on the reviews of the Victor Tin Cat. It seems to be exact same product, just cheaper (I think you have to buy two traps when you purchase the Victor Tin Cat).
After setting the trap, we caught two baby mice within a few hours. I baited it with dog food, as I had seen a mouse run to my dog's food bowl. I put the dog food (hard) right by the vents on both sides and then in the middle of the two tunnels. Each mouse was caught separately, so we released on after the other. The mother is still at large.
The only down side is that unless you know where the mice are coming in from and can make provisions to block their entry, this trap is not a long-term solution. I live in an apartment building and I know that the mice are getting into my unit through the heating grates but I have no idea how they are getting into the building nor do I have the capability to stop them from entering the building. If you do not know where the mice are entering from, unfortunately, this trap will not get rid of the problem. Actually, I suppose no trap will work as a long term solution if you cannot find or cover up their entry point. All you can do is keep catching and releasing them and try to block any access to food in your home.
All in all, this trap is definitely humane and most certainly worth the money. I highly recommend it.

I used the aerator for about 10 minutes and it stopped. Checked everything. The problem is apparently internal. Would like my money back.

Williamson Live Little Tunny 14- Rigged Fishing Lures Review

Williamson Live Little Tunny 14- Rigged Fishing Lures

Haven't fished this one yet but have used the little tunny for years. Great wahoo and dorado bait. I recommend impailing a "stinger" hook back to the tail to catch the short striking wahoo. First time out with the little tunny caught 5 dorado on it before it tore apart. Last time out was cut in half be a suspected wahoo after an hour in the water. Put the stinger in.

Williamson Live Ballyhoo 9- J Rig Fishing Lures Review

Williamson Live Ballyhoo 9- J Rig Fishing Lures

I recently fished a billfish tournament in Orange beach alabama. I ordered 5 boxes of these ballyhoo some rigged with circle hooks. Those with circle hooks, I was unable to pass a leader through to rig the ballyhoo with a J hook. I do not know if this is a manufactures defect or the was that certain ballyhoo is rigged with the J hook. Just be aware of this when ordering these. I will personlly only order the J hook rigged ballyhoo from this time forward. It is a little to late to realize you cannot rig one when your out on the water. Also they run very true and look great behing a islander or moldcraft soft head. I had a myriad of dauphing hits and wahoo during the tournament. Good luck to all anglers and Tight Lines
