I was expecting this book to be directed more toward the upcoming amateur user market such as the new Panasonic 3D HD camcorder. It is mentioned on page 55, but only briefly. Instead this book goes into great detail about large commercial apparatus and other very expensive equipment used by people who are in the business of shooting 3D professionally. I found it interesting to read portions of it, but I really wasn't interested in getting down to the technical depth the author did. I am sure this is an excellent reference handbook for people in the commercial business of shooting professional sporting events and the likes. While I consider myself to be a serious amateur photographer, this went into way too much detail and was far beyond my cursory interest level. This in no way is meant to be a criticism; I am just not the correct target audience. But if you are in the 3D commercial photography business, I am sure you will find this to be a very thorough book on the subject.
