(More customer reviews)David Goodwillie's memoir of life in New York City after college is the perfect read for anyone aged 21, 51, or 81 that doesn't know what they want to do when they grow up but truly loves trying to figure it out. Reading David's book, which is chock full of episodes that are at once poignant and humorous, took me back to a time in my own life after college when the world was less about the daily grind and more about exploring and experiencing what's out there. My favorite authors have always been the ones who take me by the hand and invite me into their world, and Goodwillie is a truly inviting and engaging host. Thanks for the trip, David, and keep on writing!

S.L. clearly drew on his sincere personal interest in Cuban culture to gain unprecedented access to compelling figures like Teofilo Stevenson and Lazaro Valle. We all know about El Duque, but Valle's bittersweet story, recounted with giddy mirthful hilarity behiond a dilapidated garage, left a haunting impression of perhaps the world's greatest pitcher, reduced to sneaking change out of a waiter's tip. Sweet as lemon pie.

(More customer reviews)i read this book in my LA class. It affected everyone. This is a book that you can really get into and it keeps you guessing. Theres something mysterious that the whole town is talking about and you don't find it out untill the end!! it teaches kids lessons and many things that they can relate to like teanage pregnency i loved reading this book! i thought that it was very realistic and if you never liked reading those books about magic and faries then this is a great book it's something different i've never read a book like it i think 99% of people would like it
